Last Week

We had a very busy last week! The house is getting a cover, the interior is all done including stairs, trace ceiling, and the laundry/mud room. We met with the electrician and heating guy yesterday. I saw a moose in town-which happens quite often. We went back to Poky for this cutie's 1st birthday. While we were there we bought a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff for the house-not as fun as I thought it would be, pretty stressful actually. Found out an old best bud is having twins-congrats Linds-no one could do it better than you!! We started school back up today, so between that and the house we'll be busy for awhile. Hope all is well for all you out there!
Happy going back to school/work for all my friends!!

South Dakota

I just wanted to post a few pictures of our vacation this summer to South Dakota. I have already posted a few, but I finally got a chance to look at the pictures on my other camera. We did some really fun things while we were there, these pictures are of the Reptile Gardens, and of course Mount Rushmore. The one of the snake eating a chick was really gross, but Eric wanted me to get a photo of it. I am not too fond of spiders and snakes, but they were all behind glass so it wasn't too bad. It was pretty crazy to see how big some of them were. Mount Rushmore was really quite amazing...definitely worth a trip, and although Eric tried to tell me otherwise-you don't get the same effect from a photo.
Great summer photos for all my friends!!

Framing it Up

This is what the house looks like as of today. The garage is all framed up, as well as the basement. They have to fix the windows on the front and in the kitchen and then they will move onto to framing the inside upstairs. It's amazing to see how much it changes in just one day!! We went up last night and there was no garage...when I went up this morning there were all but 1 garage wall up. I think the crew thinks I am nuts because I love to go sit up there and watch them work. They are seriously crazy!! They jump from beam to beam whole holding 2x4's and such. Today the lead framer was walking on the 2x4 on the top of the garage before it was completely nailed to each side. It makes me totally nervous, but they always just laugh when I watch them...even today after I told the head guy he was crazy!! Anyways, we are pretty excited that within the week it will look like a house!!

House Progression

These are some photos of the house so far. As of today the basement walls are framed up. They are currently installing the floor joists, and later today they will start on the upstairs framing. If you haven't noticed we are pretty excited and our lives (well mine) is revolving around this project. Eric's is divided between the house, fishing, and going back to school. It's crazy to think that the school year starts in just 1 1/2 weeks!!! Our summer has gone by super fast, but we are still trying to fit in one more trip to Pocatello...however, that will be based on the house and Eric's guide trips.

Concrete Walls With A View

This is the progression made on the house as of today. I have been doing a lot of behind the scenes work to get this puppy decorated...not that you can tell since the concrete walls are so distracting and all :0). We are excited to see all the work going into this, it's amazing that in a week it can go from a hole to this. Next week they will be doing the framing, this week they have done all of the concrete walls plus the plumbing rough-in (which you can see a little peek of through the window), and they will be doing the slab before the week is through. The picture of the landscape is what you will see from the front of our house and from the walkout, which you are all invited to enjoy at any time once we are in-we'd love to have visitors!! We are trying to be patient and agreeable (mainly me) so that we can get what we want and stay within our budget (very difficult-also mainly for me-haha).
Gorgeous views to all my friends!!
